Resident Evil sold 2.75 million copies within the United States alone, and its success resulted in it becoming a major horror franchise encompassing video games, novelizations, and films. This release, coupled with the 1996 light gun shooter The House of the Dead, gave rise to "an international craze" for zombies, in turn impacting zombie films. Zombie games became more prevalent after the release of the survival horror game Resident Evil in 1996. The ZX Spectrum computer game Zombie Zombie, released in Europe in 1984, is considered to be the first video game focused on zombies. Zombies are common or generic enemies in video games. Particular zombie rationale and depictions vary with the source. Other variants, such as the faster running zombies, are also included. These games feature creatures inspired by the archetypal flesh-eating zombies seen in horror films, B-movies and literature such as in the films of George A. Even when the mechanics, looting, etc are all quite similar. This is an incomplete list of video games strongly featuring zombies. I understand that this is just an opinion, totally subjective, but it really doesnt even compare for me. It just feels like a totally different experience to me. I cant really compare anything in that game to 7D as a result honestly. 7D is a first person game, quite immersive. One thing I would like to say though and I think pretty much anyone who loves these types of games can agree with, I am VERY happy both exist because you can get all the different itches scratched between them.īut the whole top down/iso view makes the game less similar to 7D than everyone makes it out to be. In my opinion zomboid edges out 7 days just because of features as far as overall zombie/crafting type game as 7 days has started lagging behind them in development as both games have been in process a long time which is fine as they're both small indie teams. An area that 7 days is winning is having animals though but with build 42 of zomboid around the corner that will be better in that as well as there will be animal keeping etc as well as hunting. The thing with comparing zombies between the games too is there is mutated zombies in 7 days vs just normal zombies in zomboid. But for building and chilling with friends 7 days is where it is at it and is why i have hundreds/thousand+ hours in both games. I 100% agree that comparing them is hard due to the FPS vs ISO/realistic thing but in overall immersion zomboid hands down is better and has more features. The zombies are a lot better in zomboid than 7 days because you can customize them to your liking and preferred zombie lore and they have updated the animations and AI a whole lot more recently. So yeah it'll be unbeatable for some time to come IMO. And it zombies better than zomboid zombies. And 7D minecrafts better than Minecraft minecrafts. I think the fixes that are upcoming to make survival relevant combined with the later addition of bandits & a loose story will lock this in as the best in class for a while.Ī lot of people like to compare it to zomboid but I think the perspective and style of the game are important when comparing To me this game is closer to minecraft than zomboid. I'd agree that this game is the best in class. Originally posted by MoistGamer:No wronging to prove.
